Help break barriers to access mental health care in Indigenous communities across Canada.

Make Music Matter (MMM) is currently working with two Indigenous partners in Canada - in central Alberta and in Toronto - to offer innovative and accessible mental health care based on the Healing in Harmony music therapy model.

Thanks to the generous support of our partners including @uaudio, Make Music Matter has created a mobile #HealinginHarmony studio to deliver mental health support to youth in remote parts of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

These young trauma survivors turned artists have experienced sexual violence and other trauma related to poverty, violence, and instability in the region.

This is the debut EP from Healing in Harmony artists who were brought together by the Naskwahamâtowin music therapy project, a collaboration between Kehewin Native Dance Theatre and Make Music Matter. The project offers innovative mental health support for Indigenous youth and is supported by Bell Let’s Talk and National Music Centre.

“To give the students a platform to express their feelings, create their own narrative, and share their messages in song is a powerful tool and has the ability to bring the community together in a positive way.” - Lead Music Producer Cindy Paul.

The song is the first to come out of the Naskwahamâtowin project - a collaboration between Kehewin Native Dance Theatre and Make Music Matter, breaking barriers to accessing mental health support through an innovative model of music therapy.

Inspired by their own stories, their families, and community Elders, these youth from Alberta, Canada have transformed into empowered and fearless artists.
